Hardscaping

Hardscaping is the structure of your landscape that adds texture, form and value to your overall look. It’s the non-living portion of the landscape and is the base for creating your own “look” and design. It enhances the beauty of the plants themselves while blending your home’s architecture with your landscape plantings.

The design team at Aurora can help you with all of your hardscape designs and projects.

What kind of hardscapes are right for me?

Small details in your hardscape can have a big impact. Be sure your hardscape features help to create focal points in your outdoor space. Adding features, such as a fire pit or water features, can complement the flowers, trees and other living elements in your outdoor space. A stone wall, or other landscape feature can improve the curb appeal of your property.

Adding a patio space can be the foundation for an outdoor living space (and it will increase the value of your home).

Hardscaping Options

Hardscapes are primarily composed of natural stone, fabricated stone, metal and/or wood.  Each of these hardscape materials provide plenty of choices with several different styles and functions. Allow our experts at Aurora Landscape to walk you through your options to create the look and feel that you are looking for.

Natural Stone

Natural Stone lends itself to being more spontaneous and earthy. A whole range of colors, textures, and forms are available to us when working with Natural Stone. Natural Stone also blends well into existing Landscapes.

Fabricated Blocks and Pavers

Man-made blocks and pavers are more linear and uniform. They offer cleaner and sometimes, more modern lines in a landscape design. They are available in more and more different patterns, colors, shapes and sizes which allow them to blend seamlessly into many landscapes. They have color and texture as with Natural Stone but also maintain their linear strength throughout the years.
